Deputy Warden Alan D. Long

Deputy Warden Alan D. Long began his 18-year-career with the Department in April of 1988 as a correctional officer at Northpoint Training Center. After eight months, he was promoted to classification and treatment officer where he served as grievance coordinator, transfer coordinator and social services director. In May of 1995 he was promoted to corrections unit administrator I where he furthered his supervisory expertise by managing segregation and general population units. In September of 2002, he was promoted to corrections unit administrator II where he served as a member of the American Correctional Association team during the program/security review process in addition to managing his unit.
He is a 1986 graduate of The University of Kentucky where he earned his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications. Long has been an active member of the Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency (KCCD) since 1995 and volunteers with several charitable organizations including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, WHAS Crusade for Children, and March of Dimes.
