This institution operates within a framework of the Justice Cabinet, Department of Corrections, to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Frankfort, Ky. – Kentucky Department of Corrections Commissioner LaDonna Thompson today announced the promotion of Janet Conover as warden of the Kentucky Correctional Institution for Women (KCIW) at Pewee Valley, currently the only state-operated prison for female offenders.
