Application Process

Applications may be obtained from your local employment office, or from The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet Home Page at:

When completing your application, please answer each item completely and accurately. List all counties in which you are willing to work. Be sure to list all positions for which you are applying in the upper right-hand corner of the application. After completing the application, if you completed the item requesting to schedule a Merit Test at a regional testing center, mail it to the address on the top of the application. You will be notified of the time and date for your scheduled exam. If you wish to test at the Division of Staffing Services (200 Fair Oaks Lane, Frankfort, KY), no advance scheduling is required. The office is open for testing Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30AM to 1:00PM Eastern Time except for state holidays. Please note the office is closed on Tuesday. It is recommended that you arrive as early as possible. You should take your completed application and original verification of education with you. Applicants must score in the top five on a test to be placed on the register for a position, and must be on the register for that position in order to be considered for employment. Please note that testing is not required for Correctional Officer.
