Deputy Warden of Programs Janet Conover
On January 15, 2008 Janet Conover assumed duties of Deputy Warden of Programs.
Janet served as Deputy Warden of Security at KCIW from July 01, 2006 until January 15, 2008.
Janet served as an executive staff adviser for Corrections since May 2004, working directly for Commissioner John D. Rees. In that role, she was the Department’s Ombudsman and she monitored the ACA accreditation process. Prior to that, Conover was a Program Administrator in the Classification Branch at Central Office for two years. She first became interested in a career in Corrections in 1989 after completing an internship in the Sex Offender Treatment Program at the Kentucky State Reformatory while a senior at Bellarmine University. A few months later, Conover was hired as a Correctional Officer at KCIW.
In 1991, she was promoted to Classification/Treatment officer at KCIW and later received promotions to Unit Administrator I and II while at the institution. She also worked as a Grievance Coordinator at the prison.
Conover is a native of Louisville and a graduate of Bellarmine University. She and her husband David live in Louisville with their daughter Allie.
